May 4th, 2020 – Morning Devotion With Pastor Dan
(John 3:16 – KJV)…..For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
(Romans 5:8 – NKJV)…..But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
(John 15:13 – NKJV)…..Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.
(1 John 3:16 – NKJV)…..By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
I love verses like these that reveal the deep love that the LORD has had for us from all eternity. Verses that even declare His love for us longe before we ever knew Him as our Savior and Lord. How many of us really understand and know the depth of such love that the apostle Paul so eloquently brings to light in the eighth chapter of Romans. So much love! Many people will quote bible verses like (John 3:16) — but how many believe it?
God never changes. If He loved you while you were still a sinner, do you think He still loves you today? The answer, of course, is YES. Yet many people think God for some reason stops loving them.
He loved us enough to die for us — and He loves us even today! We should tell other sinners about how much Jesus has loved us, and how much He desires to show His love towards them. Right now they are deceived and enslaved by sin. They need to be delivered, and no one can do it except Jesus.
God doesn’t want people to remain sinners. He loves them too much for that. Sin destroys. It brings death. But the gift of God is life — and that gift is found in a Person, the Lord Jesus Christ. The sinner needs to know that. Someone has to tell them the truth. They think Jesus hates them because they’re a sinner and not perfect. The devil already fed them that lie. Let’s tell them the truth! Let’s tell them that while they are yet sinners there is Someone who loves them that He was willing to die in their place as God levied His wrath upon His Son. When they here the great gospel, they too will love Jesus.
