(Philippians 3:14)…..I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of
God in Christ Jesus.
Think about what we value in our culture, what’s important to most people as we live day today. Think about what we chase after as a people. What will really matter at the end of your life on earth? Will, what you are giving attention to now still be important then? Or, will you be filled with regret for what you did — or
didn’t do?
We have so many things in our lives that occupy our devotion, and steal our time away from God. Distractions abound. TV, phone calls, web sites, books, movies. It might be a good idea to stop and evaluate how you are investing your time.
(1 Corinthians 9:24)…..Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.
Run to win. Win what? An imperishable crown!
One day, you will stand before God. Why not order your life now based on that “final reckoning?” A wise person would not invest everything in something
temporary. A wise person invests in something that will last. Invest your life wisely!
