The Christian Walk

Posted on July 20, 2020July 20, 2020

July 20th, 2020

When we take a moment to look back over our lives – we can see that God has been faithful to us in everything. Oh, it may have been difficult at times, but He is more than faithful to those who are His. I hope that you too can testify to the Lord’s faithfulness. His word declares His faithfulness to you – (Numbers 23:19) (Deuteronomy 32:4) (Psalm 33:4) (Isaiah 41:10) (1 John 1:9) (1 Corinthians 1:3-9) (Philippians 1:6) (2 Timothy 2:13)

His faithfulness does give us a sense of comfort – and great security – but it should realize more than that in the life of a believer – His faithfulness shows us the importance of being faithful to Him in all we do and say. Areas we might show our faithfulness to Him is in our Christian walk and in our knowledge of His word.

We ought to walk in the light – (1 John 1:5-10). Light represents what is pure – what is true – what is holy – what is reliable, and it exposes the wickedness of sin (darkness). If we want to have fellowship with God we must walk in that light. We must be cleansed (put away) the practice of sin in our lives (Ephesians 5:1-21). We ought to walk to please God – (sexually). Sexual standards are very low in our society these days where more and more people find nothing wrong with engaging in sexual conduct outside of marriage. This is even happening as some of the same people profess to be Christians. How are we to deal with such behavior? We need to apply (1 Corinthians 5:9-13), and as shared earlier (Ephesians 5:3-7), to our Christian walk where we are walking worthy of the calling that has been granted to us (Ephesians 4:1-3) (1 Thessalonians 2:12).

We are to walk worthy of the name “Christian” because people are watching the way we live – can they see Christ in us?
