Living For The Lord

Posted on August 13, 2020August 13, 2020

Daily Devotion With Pastor Dan – August 13th, 2020

We can look back over our lives and we can see that God has been faithful to us in everything. I hope that you realize that is true because it is. How do we know that is true? Because His word declares His faithfulness (Numbers 23:19) (Deuteronomy 32:4) (Psalm 33:4) (Isaiah 41:10)

God has certainly been faithful to us who are believers in Jesus Christ, who are His own purchased possession? Read: (1 John 1:9) (1 Corinthians 1:3-9) (Philippians 1:6) (2 Timothy 2:13). His faithfulness gives us a sense of comfort and great security. But even more so, His faithfulness towards us should be a reason for us to excel in our Christian walk.

1. We ought to walk in the light – (1 John 1:5-10)

  • Light represents what is pure – what is true – what is holy – what is reliable
  • Light exposes the wickedness of sin (darkness)
  • If we want to have fellowship with God – we must be cleansed (put away) the practice of sin in our lives
  • Read: (Ephesians 5:1-21) (Philippians 4:8)

2. We ought to walk to please God

  • How do the Scriptures define such a walk?
  • Read: (1 Thessalonians 4:1-8) (1 Corinthians 6:9-20)
  • How are we to deal with such behavior?
  • Read: (1 Corinthians 5:9-13) and as shared earlier (Ephesians 5:3-7)

c. We ought to walk worthy of the calling

  • Read: (Ephesians 4:1-3) (1 Thessalonians 2:12)
  • We are to walk worthy of the name “Christian”
  • People are watching the way we live – can they see Christ in us?
