Daily Devotion With Pastor Dan – September 15th, 2020
I’ve been thinking a lot on what occupies the believer’s time lately. Why we get so busy with the things of the world, and before we know it we find ourselves feeling distant from the very One who has redeemed us. We need to be near to our Lord every minute of every day so that doesn’t become a problem in our Christian walk. Today I am reminded of what the Psalmist said in (Psalm 91). “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High – is he/she who – sits down – remains – settles – marry’s – continues – endures – inhabits – makes a home – in the secret place of the Most High. This denotes a nearness to God by the Psalmist. Looking at that definition, is that where you find yourself in your fellowship with Him? Read: (Psalm 27:1-5) (Psalm 31:14-20) (Psalm 32:1-7).
He who dwells in the secret place – (Hebrew: seter) – cover – protection of the Most High. Under the shadow of the Almighty – (Hebrew: tsel) – shade – defense – (Psalm 17:6-9).
How do I (we) dwell in God’s secret place under the shadow of the Almighty? – By relationship with Him through Jesus Christ is to dwell in the secret place with the Most High – by having my (our) thoughts always on God is to dwell in His secret place – to make my (our) abode with Him – to fellowship with the Most High. Dwelling / Abiding with the Most High is seen in…….(John 6:56) (John 8:31) (John 15:4-16) (John 14:23) (2 Timothy 2:15) (Romans 6:3-4) (Romans 11:22). Today may we find ourselves abiding in the shadow of the Almighty.
