Again, the Bible tells us that God is faithful, and it can be seen in many verses such as (Exodus 34:6) (Psalm100:5) (Psalm 117:2).God is faithful to His name – (Psalm 106:8). What we can see always the Scriptures is that God is faithful to His character, always! One of the most powerful words to describe God’s character is the Hebrew word “hesed” which is translated “steadfast love” (Deuteronomy 7:9). He is known as a God who is upright, therefore we can trust that He will always be consistent with what is right (Deuteronomy 32:4). That brings great peace into the life of the believer. How about for you? Are you comforted by the fact that God is always right (righteous)?
His is also faithful with His word. When God says anything, He does what He says (Isaiah 25:1). He is faithful to all that He has spoken to us in the Scriptures, and the Bible has much to say about the faithfulness of God.
- His faithfulness is unlimited – (Psalm 36:5)
- His faithfulness is abounding – (Lamentations 3:22-23)
- He is faithful to help His people – (1 Corinthians 10:13)
- He is faithful to those He saves – (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24)
- God is also faithful in all His promises – (Hebrews 2:17)
Just meditate on this this morning, that there are literally dozens of Scriptures speaking of God’s faithfulness, none however may be the most life-changing as those that proclaim His forgiveness. If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, shout for joy that God has forgiven you of all your trespasses and sins against Him, and because of His faithfulness, you are forgiven for all eternity.
There are many Old Testament prophecies promising a coming Messiah (Savior), and God’s faithful promise was fulfilled in the New Testament when He sent Jesus to atone for our sins. No matter what sins we have committed, no matter how bad we have been, God is faithful to forgive us if we come to Him and repent in godly sorrow (2 Corinthians 7:9-10) (1 John 1:7-9). You see, God sent His Son, so that through Him we have everlasting life (Matthew 1:21-22) (John 3:1-21). Jesus Christ died to be our atonement of sin (1 Thessalonians 5:9-10) (Hebrews 9:13-22). God ordained Jesus to be the author of eternal salvation (Hebrews 5:5-10).
Regardless of where you are in life, the Lord can be trusted to stand by His promises.
- He will save you if you will come to Jesus – (Romans 10:9-10) (Acts 16:31) – He is faithful
- He will hear you when you call on Him – (Jeremiah 33:3) (Matthew 7:7-11) – He is faithful
- He will meet your needs here – (Matthew 6:25-34) (Philippians 4:19) – He is faithful
- He will give you grace sufficient for every trial – (2 Corinthians 12:7-10) – He is faithful
- He will give you His peace in the midst of every circumstance of life – (Philippians 4:6-7) – He is faithful
- He will walk with you every step of the way to glory – (Matthew 28:20) (Hebrews 13:5) – He is faithful
- He will keep you and take you to Heaven when this life is over – (John 6:37- 40,44) – He is faithful
God is so faithful that anyone who seeks Him can find Him. Isn’t that great news? As we implement our faith we will begin to realize more and more God’s faithfulness towards us (2 Thessalonians 3:1-3). Our God is the faithful God and there is no other that can do all He can and has done or will do for us. Give Him praise!
