#15 – Jesus said, “I Have The Keys”

Posted on March 9, 2021March 11, 2021
Revelation Bible Study With Pastor Dan Nickerson – March 9th, 2021

(Revelation 1:18)…..I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.

Have you ever walked through a cemetery and looked at the headstones, and what is written on each of them. It is amazing how old some of them can be. I often wonder if anybody even remembers them. For sure, after a few generations most, if not all of their history is forgotten in time. When we consider Jesus, history doesn’t forget Him. When all else is forgotten, Jesus will still be Lord, and He will still be God.

As long as Jesus is alive, as long as He is our High Priest, we will live (Hebrews 7:25). Since He will never die, we have absolute eternal security in Him as believers (John 10:28-29) (John 6:37-40). It is Jesus who said, “I have the keys of Hades and of death.”And what are keys a sign of? Authority! It is Jesus who has all authority (Matthew 28:18) (Matthew 16:19) (Revelation 3:7) (Revelation 9:1) (Revelation 20:1). Keys are also a sign of access, and because Jesus has the keys of Hades and Death, He decides all the issues of life and death. He determines who lives and who dies. People today refuse to acknowledge that Jesus is the One that controls such things. Pride keeps people from proclaiming a Lord who is in control of all that was made by Him. But it is Jesus who has unlocked the door between life and death.

The sinner should live in great fear because when their measure of sin is full, when by persistent sin they have proven themselves vessel’s of wrath fitted for destruction, the key will be turned, the door of death will open, and they will enter moment and destruction forever and ever.

May each of us know for sure that we know the Lord Jesus Christ who is able to save us from the wrath of God that is coming on mankind for their un repentant sin, and their rejection Of Jesus Christ through their unbelief. May we all know Him! May we all be known by Him (Matthew 7:21-23).
