Cults In The Last Days

Posted on July 21, 2021July 21, 2021
Daily Devotion With Pastor Dan Nickerson – July 21st, 2021

There are so many false religions, and false teachers in our world today. So many cults hadarkness where we formerly walked, where we too were dead in our trespasses and sins. Cults often claim special revelation from God Himself, special privilege from God, beyond written scripture, They distort the true biblical doctrines that are seen and studied by saved saints. What are a few characteristic flaws in cults today. First of all If it doesn’t use the Bible –  it is a non-Christian religion Mormonism – Book of Mormon – Doctrine and Covenants -The Pearl of Great Price. Christian Science – science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. The Jehovah’s Witnesses ? The New World Translation (Revelation 22:18).A ll cults add to the finished work of Jesus on the cross, it is always Jesus plus something or some work I must do in order to be saved in order to be saved (Hebrews 12:1-3).

What does (James 2:16-18) (Ephesians 2:8-10) mean? False teachers, false religions, are in the practice of twisting of Scripture. They take Scripture out of context. They read into the Scriptures information that is not there. They pick and choose only the Scriptures that suit their needs, ignoring full counsel of Scripture (1 Timothy 4:1).

Every believer must know about the Bible, God, Creation, sin, Jesus (not everybody believes the full divinity of Jesus Christ John 1:1), the Holy Spirit, and salvation. A Christian should know his doctrine well enough to be able to recognize not only what is true but also what is false, (I Peter 3:15) (2 Timothy 2:15). You must know what we contend for. (Jude 4)

Men and women have crept in, looking like a real believers, mixing grace with lasciviousness, having lack of restraint, all the while they deny the fact that there is only One True God, and deny the fact that Jesus is Lord.
Contending for the Faith is not complacently, it is confronting the wicked culture (Matthew 16:18) (Mark 16:15) (1 Peter 3:15)
