Our God Is Not Dead!

Posted on September 14, 2021September 14, 2021
Daily Devotion With Pastor Dan Nickerson – September 14th, 2021

At Bible Study tonight I overheard something that ran shivers down my back. It was the definition of what grade school kids say of Christianity today. They refer to Christianity as “A right wing system of belief.” They are taught in this culture that there is no truth, and that God is dead, and faith in Him is useless. It is so sad that young children don’t know the God of Scripture. It is even more sad and frightening that the parents and grandparents are willing to let their children and grand-children enter the wrath of God (which is coming soon on this godless world), and ultimately be separated from God’s presence, just because they don’t want to hurt their feelings. But let me tell you something you can pass on to the generations coming behind us, that is our God, the God of Scripture (Bible) is ALIVE! Why is that such a big deal? Because we “serve the living and true God” (1 Thessalonians 1:9). He is the living God – who made the heaven – the earth – the sea – and all things that are in them (Acts 14:14-18).

We do not bow down before a marble statue, a lifeless image that cannot see, hear, feel or think. Nor do we worship nature or man. We worship the true and living God, Who created us, Who watches over us, Who loves us, Who hears our prayers, Who intervenes on our behalf according to His will (Jeremiah 10:6-16). The living God has revealed Himself in the person of His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ. He is the God of our salvation which demands we exalt Him (elevate Him with praise) for the salvation granted to us. He is the Living LORD, who alone is the author (originator) and finisher (perfector) of our salvation.
