The mistreatment we might receive from people around us can stir up many emotions in us. We might not say anything, we might hate, we might get angry, we might even try to take matters into our own hands forcefully deal with the problem. But if we find ourselves ever mistreated by another, it is not our job to defend ourselves, it is God’s (Romans 12:17-21). I have talked to many people that have felt like life is not so great for them, where they feel un-appreciated in their job, in their marriage, in life, where they lack the joy to even go on to the next day of life. Have you ever just wanted to give up because life was to hard? Some people could state a loud yes to that question. But what about the believer? How is he/she supposed to respond if they find themselves being misused, unappreciated – taken advantage of – by someone who really doesn’t care about you.
Patience is what many people today say they do not want to experienceYet it is a fruit that the Holy Spirit WILL produce in God’s people (Galatians 5:22). It is necessary so you and I may have character and hope – (Romans 5:3-5). It is the result of God’s testing of our faith – (James 1:2-4). There are two definition’s of “patience”
God Himself has been patient (long-suffering) this way with man. Waiting for God is sometimes very hard – but believer’s must be patient – must trust their God.
