You’re Not Giving Up, Are You?

Posted on November 3, 2021November 3, 2021
Daily Devotions With Pastor Dan Nickerson – October 3rd, 2021

In our efforts to portrait to others we have our lives altogether, we tend to sometimes not reveal how much we hurt or how difficult the trial or life really is. Maybe it is because we just don’t want people to know that we struggle, or that we can’t make it, so we put up a wall of defense that looks good to others. If that is you let me remind you that we do have a wonderful God who takes care of us, but sometimes life is plain hard and difficult, and even at times overwhelming. But we do have a wonderful, compassionate God, because the Scriptures tell us in (1 Corinthians 10:13)….No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape that you may be able to bear it. All of us have been tempted to lose hope and give up in life. But we always have a choice: focus on God and stay in faith, or focus on the problem and give up. Problems, no matter how huge they seem to us, they are no problem to God. Nothing is too hard, or complicated, for God to solve. But God wants us to trust Him, which at times seems to huge to even do. But trust in our Lord is a must.

So what should you do when you are being tempted and feel like giving in and giving up? Pray! Run to the Word of God! Just keep your focus on the Lord and rejoice in His faithfulness. Remember that God cannot lie, and will never fail. God will see you through. The Scriptures tell us in (Hebrews 10:23)….Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. When the world, the flesh, and the devil tries to steal your faith, tries to get you to not believe what the Word of God tells us, don’t let it happen! Hold fast! You and I must believe what the Word of God says about you and your situation. Don’t be moved by the circumstances. Now this is just a thought for you to ponder. Have a wonderful day!
