Why do we praise the Lord? Why do we want to give Him thanks? Especially when thankfulness is the reason for the season in November. Because He is good, and because His mercy endures forever. Give Him thanks because……
- He is good all the time – in every event of life
- He is good on the mountain top – He is good in the valley
- He is good in the day of blessing – He is good in the day of pain
- He is good in peace – He is good in turmoil
- He is good in life – He is good in death
- He is good in rejoicing – He is good in weeping
- He is good to the saved man and the lost (wicked) man
- He is good all the time – He is The Lord – and there is no one else
How has the LORD shown His goodness to us who are believers in Jesus Christ?
- He chose us – (Ephesians 1:4)
- He called us – (John 6:44) (Romans 8:30)
- He called us by His gospel – and gave us His Spirit – (Ephesians 1:13-14)
- He placed our names in the Lambs Book of Life – (Luke 10:20)
- He keeps us – (1 Peter 1:5)
- He provides for us – (Matthew 6:25-33)
- He is coming for us – (John 14:1-3)
We don’t have to live very long in this world before it becomes painfully clear that nothing earthly lasts forever. But God’s mercy endures forever (Psalm 136:1-26). God manifests His mercy towards us in many ways……..
- In bringing redemption to us – (Psalm 86:5) (Psalm 130:7)
- In giving us “life – breath – and all things” – (Acts 17:25)
- In forgiving and saving us – (Romans 5:8-10) (1 John 1:7-9)
- In blessing us – (Ephesians 1:3)
What are you thankful for after reading and meditating on these truths?
