Truly God Is Good

Posted on January 3, 2022January 2, 2022
Daily Devotion With Pastor Dan Nickerson – January 3rd, 2022

We can study the Scriptures and see that God is good, always! His goodness is seen as…….

  1. Abundant – (Exodus 34:6)
  2. Great – (Psalm 31:19)
  3. Lasting – (Psalm 52:1)

Notice, the goodness of God is to such as are pure in heart. Is that you? The word “pure” comes from the word “katharos,” and it carries the idea of being cleansed or purified. Unmixed, as a pure substance, one not mixed with something else like oil and water. Notice the use of the word in (Matthew 23:25-26) (John 15:3)

The basic idea is that of integrity, singleness of heart as opposed to duplicity, a double heart, a divided heart  (Psalm 78:70-72) (Psalm 7:8) (Psalm 25:21) (Psalm 41:12). This singleness of heart (the clear clean purpose of the heart) is that which keeps us focused on God (Psalm 86:11-12). When a Christian tries to live a double life spiritually speaking (Matthew 23:27-28), he is anything but blessed, in fact James tells us that such a man is a double-minded man unstable in all his ways (James 1:8) (James 4:8). If a Christian doesn’t gather, he/she scatters (Luke 11:23). If he/she doesn’t love, he/she hates (1 John 3:14-15). If he/she isn’t good, he/she is evil (Luke 6:45). If he/she isn’t spiritually alive, he/she is spiritually dead (1 Timothy 5:6) (Revelation 3:1). Where are You?
