His conception was special! Jesus Christ was not conceived by a human father, He was born to a virgin, found with child of the Holy Spirit. This is an essential doctrine in Scripture because without a virgin birth we do not have a sinless Savior, and we have no hope of salvation. It is impossible to be saved and deny the truth of the virgin birth of the Lord Jesus Christ.
What is in His name (Matthew 1:21-23)? Jesus means “God is Savior.” Immanuel means “God is with us.” Jesus is “Mighty God, Everlasting Father who has been manifested in the flesh (1 Timothy 3:16).
Why? That He might take away your sin. He Himself has the power to save sinners because His blood is the atonement for our sins (Psalm 103:11-12) (Romans 5:8-9). He can bring us near to God (Ephesians 2:11-22). He has the power to secure the believer, because when Jesus saves, He does it for all eternity (John 6:37-40) (1 Peter 1:3-5). Think for a moment what God has done for mankind, He has come into this world as the Son of God, to save His people from their sins. Do you have a part in this? Yes – if there is repentance of sin, and then belief on Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:13-14) (Acts 17:30-31) (John 3:35-36).
