When I think of how God commands His loving-kindness towards us in the daytime, I am reminded of His promises of mercy and grace towards us. His mercy is…..
- Great – (Isaiah 54:6-7)
- Sure – (Isaiah 55:1-3)
- Abundant – (1 Peter 1:1-3)
- New every morning – (Lamentations 3:22-23)
He is so gracious to us (Ephesians 2:4-9). Grace is defined as, unmerited favor, that which bestows or occasions, pleasure, delight or causes favorable regard. It is the kindly act of lovingkindness, goodwill with reference to the Divine favor. God’s grace is more than mere passive pity. It expresses itself in real – concrete acts of love (Romans 5:8).
God’s grace runs through all He has done for man’s salvation by grace….He revealed His plan of salvation (1 Corinthians 2:9-12). God raises sinners to a new life in Christ (Romans 6:4-5).
We need His grace because…..
- All have sinned – (Romans 3:10, 23)
- For there is no one who does not sin
- Read: (1 Kings 8:46) (Proverbs 20:9) (Ecclesiastes 7:20)
- Since all sinned – all are under the sentence of death – (Ezekiel 18:19-20)
God, in His matchless love provided the ransom price for man’s sins. His Son to die in man’s place (2 Corinthians 5:21) (1 Peter 1:17-25). While the grace of God is demonstrated in many ways none is greater than its manifestation in His Son through whom He poured out His loving-kindness on us.
