(Psalm 102:12-17)…..But You, O Lord, shall endure forever, and the remembrance of Your name to all generations. 13 You will arise and have mercy on Zion; For the time to favor her, yes, the set time, has come. 14 For Your servants take pleasure in her stones, and show favor to her dust. 15 So the nations shall fear the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth Your glory. 16 For the Lord shall build up Zion; He shall appear in His glory. 17 He shall regard the prayer of the destitute, and shall not despise their prayer.
While the Psalmist felt the weight of his affliction, he was hopeful of God’s restoration. He believed that God would bring about ultimate victory for Israel, that they would return her to her glory, but not just for that time, but also in a future time. The Psalmist was confident that the Lord would have His day (102:12-13). Though he cannot forget his own sufferings, he finds rest in the eternal and unchangeable Jehovah, LORD.
There is nothing more calculated to strengthen the heart in suffering, or inspire our spirit with courage in days of danger and difficulty than the sense of the eternity of God. The psalmist believed that the future was as bright as the promises of God. How long do the promises of God last? One day? Five years? For one hundred years? truth is, they last forever, why? Because the LORD endures “FOREVER” – (102:12). This is because He does not change (Malachi 3:6) (Hebrews 13:8) (James 1:17) and because the LORD cannot go back on His word (Numbers 23:19) (Psalm 33:11) (Psalm 119:89) (Isaiah 40:8) (Titus 1:2) (Hebrews 6:17-18).
When we pray, do we cling to the promises of God? Do we now the promises he has made to us? Does all seem hopeless around you, then cling to the promises of (Matthew 28:18–20). Jesus has all authority in heaven and on earth, and He has promised to be with us until the end of the age.
God is eternal, everlasting, He is without end. This is seen in (Psalm 90:1-2) (Isaiah 40:28) (John 8:58) (Hebrews 1:8). Because He is eternal we have …….
