So you woke up this morning to two worlds, one seen in which you and I live and move, and the other in which the heavenly hosts live and move. Both have the same King and Lord, Jesus Christ, who is the creator and sustainer of all things, exercising His authority.
1. He is the Lord
- He is Lord of the heaven and earth – He made them
- (Psalm 24:1)…….“The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein”
- (Psalm 33:6)…….“By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth”
- (Colossians 1:16)…….“For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him”
2. He is the King
- He is the King of kings and Lord of lords – (1 Timothy 6:15)
- (Philippians 2:9-11)…….“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father”
- (Romans 14:11-12)…….“For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God”
- (2 Corinthians 5:10)…….“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad”
This Lord and King is the only One who can or will forgive you of your lawlessness against God. His mission was to seek and save the lost. He alone has the authority to forgive sin. Who is Jesus? according to you? Is he King? Is He Lord? Is He the Savior? Give the Lord praise this morning when you realize He is all these things and much more. We have an awesome God!
