Having enemies can cause many to be afraid. David was certainly afraid at times, but how did he get victory? He put his trust in God! Praising His word! The trust of David involved praising God’s word in that David took God’s word and believed His promises, even in trying times.
When we are tested it is time to trust our God (James 1:1-4). Do we trust Him (His word) when we are afraid? Does that trust drive away our fear? (1 John 4:17-19) (2 Timothy 1:6-7) (Proverbs 3:5-6). Someone might ask why should we trust God? Why is He different from anyone or anything else?
Well, He never changes (Hebrews 13:8). He is always faithful (2 Timothy 2:11-13). He loves His own (Psalm 17:6-9). Who else can we say that about? We can have confidence in His Word (His Promises) because He does not lie (Numbers 23:18-20). What an amazing Lord we have!
