Did you know that the Bible tells you to imitate God? It does! Read (Ephesians 5:1-2). We are to be imitators of God, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. We have all seen someone imitating their parent, sibling, friend, hero, etc. Sometimes the person is glad, and sometimes embarrassed to be lifted to such a high place. However, we as children of God are supposed to imitate our Heavenly Father.
In what way are we to imitate God? Should we try to create the universe, or save the world? No, He has already done all that, and we couldn’t do those things anyway. But we are to imitate God by walking in love instead of selfishness. By being givers instead of takers. We are to imitate Him in His attributes. Today think about imitating God so others can find Him.
