The Everlasting Father Has Arrived

Posted on December 15, 2022December 14, 2022
Daily Devotion With Pastor Dan Nickerson December 15th, 2022

In (Genesis 3:15) God declares that from the woman’s seed would come One who would destroy Satan’s work and power. That is precisely what Jesus did (1 John 3:8). So amazing is God’s plan of redemption that God knew the right time for Jesus to be born to accomplish His purpose (Galatians 4:4). From the beginning God began to move an ancestral line which would bring about the birth of Jesus Christ, and we can read of this genealogy of Jesus Christ in (Matthew 1:1-17)(Luke 3:23-38).

Matthew’s genealogy looks forward from Abraham to Jesus, where Luke’s genealogy looks backward from Jesus to Adam. The royal line to David’s throne is passed through Solomon and Joseph on the one hand and from Nathan to Mary (Heli was Mary’s father) (Luke 3:23). The thought and care it took for God to bring to us His Son, in His right time, is at the least awesome and amazing. Wouldn’t you say so?

This was not something that should have caught anyone by surprise because Moses and the prophets had spoken of His coming (Isaiah 7:14)(Isaiah 9:6-7)(Micah 5:2). So they knew (Matthew 2:3-6). But He was rejected, and even today man still rejects the truth of who He is and why He came.
