“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” Maybe you have heard those words from Scripture? Maybe you’ve studied them in your quiet time with the Lord. It really addresses our feelings of sufficiency. Paul’s sufficiency is found in Christ, where’s yours? We can make it through every situation we might find ourself in, but how? Through Jesus Christ who will strengthen us. Remember, without Him, and yes apart from Him, we could do nothing at all (John 15:5). You know that’s true because we have all tried it.
Christ is working out His will in His people (Ephesians 3:13-21). The same word for power in (Ephesians 3:20) is the same word used for strength in (Philippians 4:13). It is according to the power (dutimas – dynamite) that works in us. Listen, God’s power, God’s strength, is explosive, mighty, powerful in us. It is the same power used to raise Jesus from the dead and seated Him at the right hand of God (Ephesians 1:15-21). He gives us His ability, and makes us partakers of his power because we have His strength! This is why today, you can do all things through Christ who strengthens (with His explosive power) you.
