The Law Of The Lord Is Perfect

Posted on February 21, 2023February 20, 2023
Daily Devotion With Pastor Dan Nickerson February 21st, 2023

(Psalm 19:7-11)…..The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; 8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; 9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. 11 Moreover by them Your servant is warned, and in keeping them there is great reward.

The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. There is no speech or language where God’s glory in creation has not spoken to man. Yet, God has revealed His glory to us in another way, a way that reveals to us God’s Grace, Mercy, Love, Justice, Righteousness, etc. towards us. That is, through His Word. What does God (through the Psalmist – David) have to say about Himself through His Word?

The Law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul

It is perfectly free from all corruption and is perfectly fitted for its intended purpose. It will make the man of God complete (perfect) thoroughly furnishing (equipping) him for every good work (2 Timothy 3:17). God’s law (His Word) can (will) restore the soul for it is His law that makes us knowledgeable of sin (Romans 3:19-20), manifests God’s righteousness (Romans 7:7-12), and leads us to Christ (Galatians 3:19-29). Enjoy your time in His word this morning.
