(Psalm 77:10-20)…..And I said, “This is my anguish; But I will remember the years of the right hand of the Most High.” 11 I will remember the works of the Lord; Surely I will remember Your wonders of old. 12 I will also meditate on all Your work, and talk of Your deeds. 13 Your way, O God, is in the sanctuary; Who is so great a God as our God? 14 You are the God who does wonders; You have declared Your strength among the peoples. 15 You have with Your arm redeemed Your people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph.

16 The waters saw You, O God; The waters saw You, they were afraid; The depths also trembled. 17 The clouds poured out water; The skies sent out a sound; Your arrows also flashed about.
18 The voice of Your thunder was in the whirlwind; The lightnings lit up the world; The earth trembled and shook. 19 Your way was in the sea, Your path in the great waters, and Your footsteps were not known. 20 You led Your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
Sometimes we find ourselves in the same place as Asaph, in a place where we need to remind ourselves of the wonders that God has done, and is doing all around us, for us, and in us. For we are much like the people who have lived before us that God said…….
- Were not mindful of His wonders – (Nehemiah 9:17)
- Were forgetful of His wonders – (Psalm 78:11-12)
- Were lacking in understanding of His wonders – (Psalm 106:7)
- Were unbelieving concerning His works and wonders – (Psalm 78:32)
We, like Asaph, need to remember and talk about the works and wonders of our Great (Awesome) God. It is our duty as Christians (v.12). Have you meditated on all His works? Have you spoke of all His deeds? What are we as Christians saying about our “Awesome” God to others? Speaking of the word “Awesome,” it’s a word we use to describe things that are great. The word means “expressive of awe or inspiring awe, an emotion variously combining dread, veneration, and wonder that is inspired by authority or by the sacred or sublime such as I stood in awe of the king or that I regard nature’s wonders with awe.” But there’s an even more awe-inspiring reality, it’s knowing the Creator and Sustainer of the entire universe (Isaiah 42:5-9) (Hebrews 1:1-3) (Jeremiah 9:23-24). No wonder the Psalmist wrote: “The LORD Most High is awesome” (Psalm 47:2).
