Good morning! Here is an early thought to ponder, “How great is the name of God to us?” “To you individually?” If His name is not great to us, then why isn’t it? The LORD’s name is this name that we can call upon to save us (Psalm 5:11)! That should excite us today! The name of God, when we reflect on Him, should stir so many emotions in us because He is….
- Great – (Joshua 7:8-9) (Jeremiah 10:6) (Proverbs 18:10)
- Secret (wonderful) – (Judges 13:15-18)
- Glorious – (Isaiah 63:14)
- Everlasting – (Psalm 135:13)
- Excellent – (Psalm 148:13)
- Exalted – (Nehemiah 9:5) (Amos 4:13)
- Praiseworthy – (Psalm 113:1-3)
- Holy – (Isaiah 57:15)
What does the Word of God tell us about the name of God
- He is “LORD God” – (Genesis 2:4)
- He is “Most High God” – (Genesis 14:18-22)
- He is “Everlasting God” – (Genesis 21:33)
- He is “I AM” – (Exodus 3:14)
- He is “King Eternal” – (1 Timothy 1:17)
To Him belongs the name far above any other (Philippians 2:9-11) (Psalm 113:1-6). The universe reveals God’s greatness, even how excellent (majestic) is His name in all the earth (Psalm 19:1-6) (Psalm 33:4-9) (Romans 1:20). This morning enjoy your fellowship with the One who has the greatest name given to Man, because His (and only His name) is worthy of praise.
