What does God (through the Psalmist – David) say about His Word in (Psalm 19:7-11)?

    1. The Law of the LORD is perfect - converting the soul
    • It is perfectly free from all corruption – and is perfectly fitted for its intended purpose
    • It will make the man of God complete (perfect) thoroughly furnishing (equipping) him for every good work – (2 Timothy 3:17)
    • God’s law (His Word) can (will) restore the soul – for it is His law that…..
    • Makes us knowledgeable of sin – (Romans 3:19-20)
    • Manifests God’s righteousness – (Romans 7:7-12)
    • Leads us to Christ – (Galatians 3:19-29)
    2. The testimony of the LORD is sure - making wise the simple
    • His testimony (His Word) of Himself gives the simplest of men the ability to gain wisdom about God – there is no other way to become wise than through His Word
    3. It is the LORD'S statutes (orders, charges, rules) that are right – (Psalm 119:128)
    • The reason – His Word is sure (Trustworthy)
    • Read: (Psalm 111:7) (Psalm 119:142) (Psalm 119:151) (Psalm 119:160)
    • It is them that cause the heart to rejoice – nothing brings the heart to rejoicing like the Word of God
    • Read: (Jeremiah 15:16)
    4. The commandment of the LORD is pure - enlightening the eyes
    • God’s Word is – clean – it is clear – it is without defilement – it shows us our need for Christ
    • Read: (2 Timothy 3:15-17)
    5. The fear of the LORD is clean - enduring forever
    • God’s Word has cleansing power for those who heed it – (Psalm 119:9-16)
    • And His Word will endure forever – it can never be repealed or changed
    6. The judgments (ordinances) of the LORD are true and righteous altogether
    • There is none that are in any way false – or wicked
    • God’s Word reveals to us that God is – perfect – trustworthy – right – pure – clean – and true
    • Now – with such a revelation about God’s Word – what is your reaction towards it?
    • Does it have value to you? – Does it have importance? – How does it rate in your life?
    • Notice – David’s love and need of it – (Psalm 19:10-11)
    • What would you tell the next generation about His word?
Should the things we have seen in God's Word this morning not motivate us to study and learn from the Word of God? Would it not be foolish to neglect such power in our lives?
