Perilous Times Are Coming

Posted on August 15, 2023August 14, 2023

It is very possible that the Lord’s return is at hand. I want to point out four major marks that show we are in the last days

Daily Devotion With Pastor Dan Nickerson
August 14th, 2023
  1. Mark 1 – perilous times – (1 Timothy 3:1)
  2. Mark 2 – a godless world – (1 Timothy 3:2-4)
  3. Mark 3 – powerless religion – (1 Timothy 3:5)
  4. Mark 4 – corrupt ministers – (1 Timothy 3:6-9)

Perilous times means – difficult – troublesome – trying – uneasy – hard – violent – threatening – and dangerous; Scripture leaves no doubt about what is to come – perilous times. Why will the last days be perilous? Because the world will be godless,,.Note how the terrible marks of the last days are describedMen will be lovers of their own selves – It means selfishness and self-centeredness

  • To put yourself before….God’s will – wife – husband – parent(s) – neighbors
  • Many verses in the Bible command us to humble ourselves and not to think too highly of ourselves –  which can be our tendency
  • Read: (Mark 8:34) (James 4:6-10) (1 Pet. 5:5-6) (Romans 12:3) (Philippians 2:3)
  • The mark of biblical love is self-sacrifice – not self-love or self-esteem
  • Read: (John 13:34-35) (Ephesians 5:25)
