(Matthew 11:1-5)…..Now it came to pass, when Jesus finished commanding His twelve disciples, that He departed from there to teach and to preach in their cities. 2 And when John had heard in prison about the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples 3 and said to Him, “Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?” 4 Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see: 5 The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them.
Notice – John’s question to Jesus in – (11:3) – and Jesus’ answer in – (11:4-5)
A thousand years previously King David wrote a psalm prophesying about the Messiah and calling Him – the One who Comes – (Psalm 118:22-26). Then a few hundred years later the prophet Daniel prophesied from Babylon about the coming Messiah – (Daniel 7:12-13). Later these words were used when the crowds in Jerusalem wanted to hail Jesus as the Messiah – (Matthew 21:9). He then came in the form of a man when he was born of a virgin, was crucified and rose again and ascended into heaven
The Scriptures tell us that He is coming again – (Hebrews 10:37) (Revelation 1:4-8) (4:8). Are you ready? Are you one who loves His appearing? He will be here soon!
