The LORD, that is YHWH:

  1. He Reigns. This is the main thrust of this Psalm: God is King. If we are to know anything at all, it is this one fact. God reigns. This Psalm puts no limit on God’s sovereignty. He simply reigns. Presumably, there is nothing outside of His jurisdiction. God reigns over all, at all times, and in all ways.

  2. He is Robed in Majesty. How are we to know that the Lord reigns? He is dressed as a king.

    2. Psalm 8:1
    3. Psalm 19:1
    4. Romans 1:20

God has shown Himself to be King in His works of creation. Man has no excuse but to see God as the King of all because He has made it plain to him in all creation.
