Compassionate Lord, Your mercies have brought me to the dawn of another day. Vain will be its gift unless I grow in grace, increase in knowledge, ripen for spiritual harvest. Let me this day know You as You are, love You supremely, serve You wholly, admire You fully. Through grace let my will respond to You, knowing that power to obey is not in me, but that Your free love alone enables me to serve You. Here then is my empty heart, overflow it with Your choicest gifts; here is my

You Are My Lord!
(Psalm 16:1-2)…..Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust. 2 O my soul, you have said to the Lord, “You are my Lord, my goodness is nothing apart from You.”
Why is it that David can trust God? Why can we trust Him? Because He is Lord (my Lord) – (Adonay; Ad-o-noy) – He has authority and power, and is matchless in His being. David wrote – “The LORD said to my Lord…” – (Psalm 110:1). Thomas said, “My Lord and my God!” – (John 20:27-28)…
He Freely Gives To Us
(Romans 8:32)…..He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
Most people approach prayer as an exercise in convincing God to help. They think they must twist God’s arm, or promise to do something, in order to get God to give them anything. The New Testament paints a different picture. God not only is a willing giver, but has already given! He is not holding back on us in any way! When He …
Don’t Be Afraid
Look at the mess this world is in today. This is the result of generations of people rejecting the true God of heaven and worshiping the creature (His creation) more than it worships Him (Romans 1). Are you afraid of what you see? How do we act in this ungodly world as Christians?
(2 Timothy 1:6-8)…..6 Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, …
Anguish In The Garden
(Matthew 26:36-46)…..36 Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, “Sit here while I go and pray over there.” 37 And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. 38 Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me.” 39 He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let …
Are You Ready For His Return?

It seems that I think about the LORD’S return often these days. Studying the gospel of Mark today I was reminded that we won’t know the day or hour of Christ’s return, but we will know the season (Mark 13:28-29). It sure seems that we are closer than we think. What a wondrous day it will be for those who have been redeemed by the blood of Christ. But it will not be good for those who will be judged someday because they do not know Jesus, and because the refused …
Are You Free?
Well it is another year of celebrating the freedoms we have in this nation, I hope you enjoyed the Fourth of July. Celebrating our freedom is good. It is sad that many people do not have the freedoms we have in the USA. It is even sadder that so many people are not free from the bondage of sin and death. I preached this truth in last Sundays sermon, so let me share with you some of what was in that sermon. People that are still controlled by the the world, the …
Start Your Day With Thanks
Some days, many of us wake up with aching joints and ho-hum spirits, wondering how we can shake off our lethargy and make it through the day. Certainly the day of the unbeliever would tend to be more difficult because he/she has no place to draw strength from. The believer in Jesus Christ has all of heavens spiritual blessings to help them (Ephesians 1:3). Our victory for the day ahead of us starts with thanksgiving. Here are some suggestions provided by David in (Psalm 103:1-5).
- Let’s thank God — especially
The Lord Hears Your Prayers
Where does one go for help when everything around him seems against him and falling apart? We know the answer to this, it’s Christ, but he is not always our first recourse, not usually anyway for some, even though we know better. This past week I was blessed to see a brother in Christ say goodbye to his wife all the while knowing that he will see her again someday. In this trial I watched as he continually would give praise to God, as he prayed to the Lord, leaning on …
Who Is A Fool?
(Psalm 14:1-3)…..The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none who does good. 2 The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there are any who understand, who seek God. 3 They have all turned aside, they have together become corrupt; there is none who does good, No, not one.
The word fool describes one who is without wisdom. In this text the Hebrew word for fool is nabal, which describes one …
