If we say we know God, what does that mean? What does it mean for Him to know us?

The word “known” means – to ascertain by seeing – observation – care – recognition – acknowledge – understand – advise – discern – discover – surity – teach – tell – perceive – to be with. That is quite a definition – yet I only used some of the words that are listed in Strongs.

  1. Knowing God shows itself in relationship

a. One can have knowledge of God – and not …

Have you ever wondered if we are in the last days as is described in the Bible? We are certainly one day closer than when Paul wrote to Timothy. Paul describes the kind of people who will live during the last days. So let us continue with (part 4) of Paul’s letter to Timothy, warning Timothy of what is to come. In the last days there will be men who are far away from the norm, which will be to them an ushering in the coming Judgement from the Lord. Certainly, …

Have you ever wondered if we are in the last days as is described in the Bible? We are certainly one day closer than when Paul wrote to Timothy. Paul describes the kind of people who will live during the last days. So let us continue with (part 3) of Paul’s letter to Timothy, warning Timothy of what is to come.

To continue with what it will look like in the last days of mankind, men will be,

Boasters – Empty pretenders

Windbags! They brag about what they have and have done! Set themselves up as the be all and end all of other people’s lives!

Proud – An over estimate of one’s worth – (Proverbs 16:18)

Nothing but sinners saved by pure grace! Paul (1 Corinthians 15:10). Men would do well to remember the counsel of Romans 12:3, “For I say, through the grace given unto …

Have you ever wondered if we are in the last days as is described in the Bible? We are certainly one day closer than when Paul wrote to Timothy. Paul describes the kind of people who will live during the last days. He tells us how they will think and how they will live. One need only read these verses and cross reference them with the newspaper, the evening news and life all around to see that we are surrounded by those who fulfil these characteristics to a tee. Let’s take …

  1. Paul knew his Lord

a.  That is – there was deep fellowship and knowledge of the true person and identity of Jesus Christ

  • ….for I know whom I have believed…. (1:12)
  • This knowledge gave Paul courage to suffer any price – (Philippians 3:8)

b.  Who is the Jesus of Scripture we call our Lord?

  • Read: (Isaiah 9:6-7) (Matthew 13-17) (Colossians 1:15-18) (Revelation 1:10-11; 22:16)

c.  When we know our Lord’s true identity – how can we ever be ashamed of Him?

(Romans 8:32)…..He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Most people approach prayer as an exercise in convincing God to help them. They think they must twist God’s arm, or promise to do something, in order to get God to give them anything. The New Testament paints a different picture. God not only is a willing giver, but has already given! He is not holding back on us at all!

When He …

Do you have a problem with words sometimes? Is your language bad sometimes? Do you say the wrong thing at the wrong time. Do you speak but not necessarily for God. In some ways we are all guilty I suppose. But what does the word of God tell us to do? If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. When you speak what the Bible says, you are speaking the very words of God. Anything contrary to what the Bible says, should never be …

Habakkuk wrote in a time of disintegration, deterioration, degradation in the kingdom, whatever it was in their day the people were turning away from God. People were getting by with sin and God was seemingly doing nothing about it His question was…….”Why doesn’t God judge the wicked?” Why does God permit evil men and women to prosper?  Isn’t that a good question in our day? I’m sure that many people have asked (even Christian’s)……..”Why doesn’t God judge the evil in our nation today?

Where is justice in a world full of …
