It seems that in the hour of trial or discouragement the Lord always stood with Paul. While he was preaching the gospel in Damascus there was such a stir as they were after Paul, and yet the Lord was with him. While he was preaching in Lystra, they stoned him and thought he was dead, and yet the Lord was with him. While he was preaching the gospel in Philippi, he was beaten and placed in stocks in the inner prison, and yet the Lord was with him. While he was …

If Jesus Prayed, Should We?
(Luke 5:16)…..So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed. But why? Jesus prayed and He is our example. If prayer was necessary for Jesus, how much more so for us. Just look at (John 13:15)…..”For I have given you an example. . . .” (Luke 6:12) tells us…..”He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. And of course we read in (Mark 1:35)…..a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed. Jesus …
The Grace Of God
The Grace of God is one of the most amazing doctrines given in the Scriptures from God. It is through the grace of God that even man, woman, or child might be saved as they place their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. I came upon this old article from Spurgeon’s “Sword and the Trowel” newspaper He used to print. I thought you might enjoy His insight on grace.
Tis by the grace of God that ungodly men are preserved from instant death. The sharp axe of justice would soon fell …
Just Thank Him
It is very sad but many people wake up with aching joints, aching backs, lacking joy, wondering how they can shake off their lethargy and make it through the day. In many ways life has become more of a burden to them than any kind of excitement. So just how does a person go from a down and out state to a place of rejoicing and joy?
Here are some suggestions provided by David in Psalm 103:1-5.
- Let’s thank God — especially for all of His “benefits” (Psalm 103:2) — one
He Gave Me What?
JOHN 3:16 ESV 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
God so loved me, (insert your name here), that He gave…
What did God give me? He gave me His only Son. (John 3:16)
What did God give me? He gave me the gift of righteousness. (Romans 5:17)
What did God give me? He gave me eternal life through Jesus my Lord. (Romans 6:23)
What did God give me? With Jesus He …
Our Free Gift Of Salvation
God saved you by his grace. And you or I can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God (Ephesians 2:8-10). Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. If salvation is based on our performance, on what we do, then it is not by grace. Our salvation is based on what Jesus Christ did. Our part is simply to receive the gift! Yet that is so hard for people to grasp.
Abraham was, humanly speaking, …
When Should We Rejoice?
(I Thessalonians 5:16 KJV)…..Rejoice evermore.
(1 Thessalonians 5:16 NASB)…..Rejoice always.
If you only rejoice when things are perfect, you may not rejoice much in this life. Why miss out on something so pleasant? We as believers are to rejoice in hope, be patient in suffering, persevere in prayer. You can rejoice in hope! That means to rejoice ahead of time. Why? Because you expect deliverance. You know God’s blessing is coming your way because God is faithful. So rejoice now! Today, rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: …
He Doesn’t Change!
With His Word God gave us a firm foundation to base our life on. Something absolutely unchanging. Something God Himself will never change. So we can be certain about God’s will. If we want to know God’s will, we only need to see what He said in His Word, the Bible.
Let us praise His name for His unfailing love and faithfulness; for His promises are backed by all the honor of His name.
The integrity of God is wrapped up in His Word; if He did not keep His Word …
Oh How He Loves Us!
“And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.” – (1 John 4:16)
The best and most wonderful word in heaven is Love. For God is Love. And the best and most wonderful word in the inner chamber must be – Love. For the God Who meets us there is Love. What is love? The deep desire to give itself for the beloved. Love finds its joy in imparting all that …
Are You Ready?
Who is it that needs to be ready (prepared) for Jesus to return?Everyone (Mark 16:15)! What should man be prepared for? (Acts 10:42) (2 Corinthians 5:10). Why should we prepare? (Matthew 24:36-42). When should we prepare for His return? NOW! (2 Corinthians 6:1-2). Always (Luke 12:35-40). There are consequences for preparation involving the Lord’s return. There are good consequences for proper preparation (Matthew 24:46-47), and there are bad consequences for improper preparation (Matthew 24:48-51). Consider those in (2 Thessalonians 1:7-9). Will Jesus find …
