It seems that I think about the LORD’S return often these days. Studying the gospel of Mark today I was reminded that we won’t know the day or hour of Christ’s return, but we will know the season (Mark 13:28-29). It sure seems that we are closer than we think. What a wondrous day it will be for those who have been redeemed by the blood of Christ. But it will not be good for those who will be judged someday because they do not know Jesus, and because the refused …

Are You Free?
Well it is another year of celebrating the freedoms we have in this nation, I hope you enjoyed the Fourth of July. Celebrating our freedom is good. It is sad that many people do not have the freedoms we have in the USA. It is even sadder that so many people are not free from the bondage of sin and death. I preached this truth in last Sundays sermon, so let me share with you some of what was in that sermon. People that are still controlled by the the world, the …
Start Your Day With Thanks
Some days, many of us wake up with aching joints and ho-hum spirits, wondering how we can shake off our lethargy and make it through the day. Certainly the day of the unbeliever would tend to be more difficult because he/she has no place to draw strength from. The believer in Jesus Christ has all of heavens spiritual blessings to help them (Ephesians 1:3). Our victory for the day ahead of us starts with thanksgiving. Here are some suggestions provided by David in (Psalm 103:1-5).
- Let’s thank God — especially
The Lord Hears Your Prayers
Where does one go for help when everything around him seems against him and falling apart? We know the answer to this, it’s Christ, but he is not always our first recourse, not usually anyway for some, even though we know better. This past week I was blessed to see a brother in Christ say goodbye to his wife all the while knowing that he will see her again someday. In this trial I watched as he continually would give praise to God, as he prayed to the Lord, leaning on …
Who Is A Fool?
(Psalm 14:1-3)…..The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none who does good. 2 The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there are any who understand, who seek God. 3 They have all turned aside, they have together become corrupt; there is none who does good, No, not one.
The word fool describes one who is without wisdom. In this text the Hebrew word for fool is nabal, which describes one …
God’s Mercy
Yesturday while driving to a fellow believers house to be with him , as his wife went home to be with the LORD, I was driving and giving thanks for the mercy that God had shown through his loss. How God had allowed her passing to happen with time. The mercy and grace being for his time to prepare. Our God is so gracious and merciful! “OH, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever”…..(Psalm 107:1).
This Psalm is wholly devoted to the praise …
Jesus Christ Is Supreme
The first four verses of Hebrews is one of the most informative sentences relating to Jesus’ supremacy: (Hebrews 1:1-4)…..”God, who at various times and in different ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself …
Repentance
The gospel of Jesus Christ answers the problem of sin by commanding us to “repent” (Acts 3:19) (Acts 17:30-31). When a person truly repents of their sin, they will not practice it anymore. But what is repentance? There are misconceptions about repentance. That repentance is sorrow for my sin, but there doesn’t need to be a change or that repentance is a changed life, but there doesn’t need to be sorrow. What does the Bible say about repentance? The answer can be seen in (2 Corinthians 7:9-10).

The Message Of The Cross
The message of the cross is strange to those who have never experienced its life changing power. We read in (1 Corinthians 1:18)….For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. Foolishness comes from the same word which we get the word moron. To those dead in their trespasses and sin, who say the cross and the gospel is foolishness, that person is a moron. But to those being who are being saved – …
I Trust The Lord
In the Lord I put my trust; how can you say to my soul, “Flee as a bird to your mountain”? 2 For look! The wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow on the string, that they may shoot secretly at the upright in heart. 3 If the foundations are destroyed, What can the righteous do? 4 The Lord is in His holy temple, the Lord’s throne is in heaven; His eyes behold, His eyelids test the sons of men. 5 The Lord tests the righteous, but the wicked …
