The LORD, that is YHWH

Posted on January 31, 2024January 30, 2024

Daily Devotion With Pastor Dan Nickerson – January 31st, 2024

The LORD, that is YHWH:

  1. He Reigns. This is the main thrust of this Psalm: God is King. If we are to know anything at all, it is this one fact. God reigns. This Psalm puts no limit on God’s sovereignty. He simply reigns. Presumably, there is nothing outside of His jurisdiction. God reigns over all, at all times, and in all ways.
    1. Psalm 96:10
    2. Psalm 99:1
    3. Genesis 1:1
  2. He is Robed in Majesty. How are we to know that the Lord reigns? He is dressed as a king.
    1. Psalm

Who Is God?

Daily Devotion With Pastor Dan Nickerson – January 30th, 2024

There is no other God but one! What does that mean (should mean) to the believer in Jesus Christ (Deuteronomy 4:33-39) (Deuteronomy 6:4)? God is not “the boss” – not the “big man upstairs” – not “your bud” or “your pal” – not a “celestial bell hop” – not a “slot machine” – not a “genie” – not anything or anyone you or I can bring down to our level. God is not an unknown – for He has clearly revealed Himself through the things He has created – …

Proclamation Of Redemption (pt.2)

Daily Devotion With Pastor Dan Nickerson – January 29th, 2024

Let’s address three truths concerning communion that every Christian should realize

  1. Communion is a proclamation that Jesus is the Perfect Substitute for the sinner – He died in our place
  • As a substitute He bore our sins – (1 Peter 2:24-25) (Hebrews 9:28)
  • As a substitute He carried our guilt – (Isaiah 53:4, 5, 8, 12) (Galatians 3:13)
  • As a substitute He died our death – (Hebrews 2:9)
  • As a substitute He became the sin-offering for us
  • Read: (2 Corinthians 5:21) (1 Corinthians 1:26-31)
  • So it is preached from the

The Proclamation Of Redemption

Notice what God’s word says in (1 Corinthians 11:26). Now notice the word proclaim in that verse. The word proclaim is (kataggello) – {kat-ang-gel-lo} in the greek, and means to declare openly, to declare plainly, or to tell out loud. Whenever we share together in the Lord’s Supper we are making a public confession of faith. We are making an open declaration of salvation. A bold announcement that we believe in the death, burial, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The Lord’s supper, by means of symbols for His flesh …

Let’s Celebrate With Bread and Cup

Think about worshipping our Lord. Think about how we proclaim to one another (believers) that we are part of the body of Christ and followers of Jesus. One of those ways was (is) to share the Lord’s Supper (Communion) together. The Lord’s Supper was an important activity in the weekly, monthly assemblies of the early believers (Matthew 26:26-28) (Luke 22:17-20) (Acts 2:42) (Acts 20:7). Christians assembled on Sunday – the first day of the week – to break bread with one another and thank the Lord for the giving of …

Flee! Don’t Wait! Run!

(2 Timothy 2:22)…..Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

We are not kids anymore! Well at least some of us. But we are not so old that we have forgotten our youth, and those lust we had back then. Lusts that grabbed and pulled our hearts from devotion to the Lord. Some of those lusts were not bad in themselves, but they stole from us time and fellowship with the Savior. For some older, they are …

As His Servant

When handling the Scriptures (God’s word) the servant of the Lord should….(2 Timothy 2:24-26)

Not quarrel, be gentle – (mild or kind; a spirit of meekness) – to all, e able to teach – apt and skillful in teaching of the Scriptures). Be patient – (patient under evils and wrongdoing – forbearing with one another). Be humble (gentleness, mildness, meekness) when correcting those in opposition We need to give room for God to bring them to repentance so that they may know the truth and come to their senses escape …

Watch Your Disputing

How is a servant of the Lord suppose to act when faced with foolish and ignorant disputes about the Scriptures? What should be our response to those who only want to cause strife in the body of Christ, without a heart to learn. Remember what Paul told Timothy, when he was supposed to deal with those who were striving over words. Yes, this was going on in the body of Christ in his day?

Remind (charge) them – before the Lord – not to strive (battle) about word’s that don’t profit. This …

My Food Is His Finished Work

(John 4:34)…..My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.

Food is pleasant, and delightful, and refreshing to the body of man, so doing the will of God was as delightful and refreshing to Christ: He took as much pleasure in it, as an hungry man does in eating and drinking. One part of the will of God was to assume human nature; this He had done, and with delight and pleasure: another part of it was to fulfill the law; and this

Delight Yourself In The LORD

Daily Devotion With Pastor Dan Nickerson

(Psalm 37:4)…..Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

What do you enjoy? What is the desire of your life? The worlds is full of things to enjoy, and full of things that strive for our desires. Yet for the Christian (the believer in Jesus Christ), you should enjoy the Lord, and He must be your desire to know, love, live for, and not just serve Him out of obligation.

If you are married and have a spouse, or have a friend you …
