The Working Of All Three

Posted on February 6, 2024February 5, 2024

Daily Devotion With Pastor Dan Nickerson – February 6th, 2024

“Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, for the obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ.” (1 Peter 1:2)

Here we have one of the texts in which the great truth of the blessed Trinity is seen to lie at the very root of our Spiritual life. We must reming ourselves that, for all the intercourse with God, the presence and the power of the Son and the Spirit are absolutely necessary. What a field this opens for us in the …

God Does Love You

Daily Devotion With Pastor Dan Nickerson – February 5th, 2024

God Really Does Love You

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

Yes, you have heard it before. No, you don’t understand it yet. Ephesians 3 mentions praying that believers would know the love of Christ, which is really beyond knowledge. In other words, you need a divine revelation to understand God’s love for you. Christ’s love …

It Is Well With My Soul

Posted on February 2, 2024February 1, 2024

Daily Devotion With Pastor Dan Nickerson – February 2nd, 2024

Did you know, the song “It Is Well With My Soul” was written by a successful Christian lawyer Heratio Spafford. His only son died at age 4 in 1871. In 1872, the great Chicago fire wiped out his vast estate, made from a successful legal career. In 1873 he sent his wife and four daughters over to Europe on a summer trip on the ill fated SS Ville du Havre. Since he had a lot of work to do, he planned to follow them later. The ship sank and he …

The LORD, that is YHWH

Posted on January 31, 2024January 30, 2024

Daily Devotion With Pastor Dan Nickerson – January 31st, 2024

The LORD, that is YHWH:

  1. He Reigns. This is the main thrust of this Psalm: God is King. If we are to know anything at all, it is this one fact. God reigns. This Psalm puts no limit on God’s sovereignty. He simply reigns. Presumably, there is nothing outside of His jurisdiction. God reigns over all, at all times, and in all ways.
    1. Psalm 96:10
    2. Psalm 99:1
    3. Genesis 1:1
  2. He is Robed in Majesty. How are we to know that the Lord reigns? He is dressed as a king.
    1. Psalm

Who Is God?

Posted on January 30, 2024January 29, 2024

Daily Devotion With Pastor Dan Nickerson – January 30th, 2024

There is no other God but one! What does that mean (should mean) to the believer in Jesus Christ (Deuteronomy 4:33-39) (Deuteronomy 6:4)? God is not “the boss” – not the “big man upstairs” – not “your bud” or “your pal” – not a “celestial bell hop” – not a “slot machine” – not a “genie” – not anything or anyone you or I can bring down to our level. God is not an unknown – for He has clearly revealed Himself through the things He has created – …

Proclamation Of Redemption (pt.2)

Posted on January 29, 2024January 28, 2024

Daily Devotion With Pastor Dan Nickerson – January 29th, 2024

Let’s address three truths concerning communion that every Christian should realize

  1. Communion is a proclamation that Jesus is the Perfect Substitute for the sinner – He died in our place
  • As a substitute He bore our sins – (1 Peter 2:24-25) (Hebrews 9:28)
  • As a substitute He carried our guilt – (Isaiah 53:4, 5, 8, 12) (Galatians 3:13)
  • As a substitute He died our death – (Hebrews 2:9)
  • As a substitute He became the sin-offering for us
  • Read: (2 Corinthians 5:21) (1 Corinthians 1:26-31)
  • So it is preached from the

The Proclamation Of Redemption

Notice what God’s word says in (1 Corinthians 11:26). Now notice the word proclaim in that verse. The word proclaim is (kataggello) – {kat-ang-gel-lo} in the greek, and means to declare openly, to declare plainly, or to tell out loud. Whenever we share together in the Lord’s Supper we are making a public confession of faith. We are making an open declaration of salvation. A bold announcement that we believe in the death, burial, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The Lord’s supper, by means of symbols for His flesh …

Let’s Celebrate With Bread and Cup

Think about worshipping our Lord. Think about how we proclaim to one another (believers) that we are part of the body of Christ and followers of Jesus. One of those ways was (is) to share the Lord’s Supper (Communion) together. The Lord’s Supper was an important activity in the weekly, monthly assemblies of the early believers (Matthew 26:26-28) (Luke 22:17-20) (Acts 2:42) (Acts 20:7). Christians assembled on Sunday – the first day of the week – to break bread with one another and thank the Lord for the giving of …

Flee! Don’t Wait! Run!

(2 Timothy 2:22)…..Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

We are not kids anymore! Well at least some of us. But we are not so old that we have forgotten our youth, and those lust we had back then. Lusts that grabbed and pulled our hearts from devotion to the Lord. Some of those lusts were not bad in themselves, but they stole from us time and fellowship with the Savior. For some older, they are …
