Have you ever wondered if we are in the last days as is described in the Bible? We are certainly one day closer than when Paul wrote to Timothy. Paul describes the kind of people who will live during the last days. He tells us how they will think and how they will live. One need only read these verses and cross reference them with the newspaper, the evening news and life all around to see that we are surrounded by those who fulfil these characteristics to a tee. 1. Paul knew his Lord

a.  That is – there was deep fellowship and knowledge of the true person and identity of Jesus Christ

• ….for I know whom I have believed…. (1:12)
• This knowledge gave Paul courage to suffer any price – (Philippians 3:8)

b.  Who is the Jesus of Scripture we call our Lord?

• Read: (Isaiah 9:6-7) (Matthew 13-17) (Colossians 1:15-18) (Revelation 1:10-11; 22:16)

c.  When we know our Lord’s true identity – how can we ever be ashamed of Him?

(Romans 8:32)…..He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Most people approach prayer as an exercise in convincing God to help them. They think they must twist God’s arm, or promise to do something, in order to get God to give them anything. The New Testament paints a different picture. God not only is a willing giver, but has already given! He is not holding back on us at all!

Habakkuk wrote in a time of disintegration, deterioration, degradation in the kingdom, whatever it was in their day the people were turning away from God. We may live in the the United States or some other part of this vast world, but as a believer In Jesus Christ our citizenship is in heaven, and it is from there that we are expecting a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
