Dirk Darrow preaches from Hebrews 11:1
(1 Corinthians 10:23-24)…..All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify. 24 Let no one seek his own, but each one the other’s well-being. As we pursue ways to edify one another as Christians let us understand that it is really the Lord Himself working through us to edify His own. Keeping that in perspective keeps us from boasting in ourselves.
Edify literally means to build a house, used here it is promoting the spiritual growth of …
So you woke up this morning to two worlds, one seen in which you and I live and move, and the other in which the heavenly hosts live and move. Both have the same King and Lord, Jesus Christ, who is the creator and sustainer of all things, exercising His authority.
1. He is the Lord
(1 Corinthians 12:22-25)….No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary. And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty, but our presentable parts have no need. But God composed the body, having given greater honor to the part that lacks it, that there be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another.
There are NO unnecessary parts in …
I suppose you are like me, I enjoy being in this country that allows us many freedom’s. We just celebrated the working man/woman who has been a huge part of the freedoms we have. Think of all those who have labored for us to have the country we have. We owe them a heart of gratitude for sure. Many men and women have given their lives, spilling their blood, to secure the freedom we sometimes take for granted, or even just don’t think about. There has been a tremendous price paid …
There may be no sweeter word known to mankind than the word “grace.” It is by Grace that God has granted us His merciful kindness, turning us to Christ, keeping us, strengthening us, and giving us the ability to grow in the grace and knowledge of Himself. Simply, grace is the unmerited love and favor of God for you a sinner. Grace is something that begins and ends with the Sovereign Lord. Listen, men/women do not seek God, God seeks them (Romans 3:9-18). Men/women do not initiate salvation, God does! …
(Psalm 102:12-17)…..But You, O Lord, shall endure forever, and the remembrance of Your name to all generations. 13 You will arise and have mercy on Zion; For the time to favor her, yes, the set time, has come. 14 For Your servants take pleasure in her stones, and show favor to her dust. 15 So the nations shall fear the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth Your glory. 16 For the Lord shall build up Zion; He shall appear in His glory. 17 He shall regard …
This last Sunday we served communion at our church service, and as we were serving it I wondered how many realize why we celebrate this ordinance in the body of Christ (the Church). For sure the Lord’s Supper was an important activity in the weekly assemblies of the early believers (Matthew 26:26-28) (Luke 22:17-20) (Acts 2:42) (Acts 20:7). Christians assembled on Sunday, the first day of the week, to break bread with one another as they celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Just like with many things in life, this …
