Pastor Dan Nickerson preaches from 2 Timothy 3:1-9
One of my favorite passages in God’s word is (Psalm 2). This Psalm speaks to the eternal, powerful, unchanging rule of God. (Psalm 2) is a Messianic Psalm, that is, it is a prophesy of Jesus Christ the Messiah hundreds of years before He was born into this world. This psalm not only spoke powerfully in the day it was written, but it speaks powerfully and prophetically to us as the Church today. No matter how dark the times, how wicked nations become, we can rest with assurance that Jesus …
(Ephesians 3:21)…..To Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
God Himself must reveal his glory to us; then alone are we able to know and glorify Him aright. There is no more wonderful image in nature of the glory of God than we find in the starry heavens. The telescopes, which are continually made more powerful, have long proclaimed the wonders of God’s universe. And by means of photography, new wonders of that glory have been revealed. A photographic plate fixed …
(1 Corinthians 4:1-5)…..Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. 2 Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful. 3 But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by a human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself. 4 For I know of nothing against myself, yet I am not justified by this; but He who judges me is the Lord. 5 Therefore judge nothing before the …
(Hebrews 10:19-20)…..19 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh….. I can remember when I first came across this verse in my studies of Hebrews. I love how Christ Himself is the veil between the Holy God, and sinful people. How the veil of the temple was only a type or picture of Christ Himself. He being that veil only goes to show that unless …
( 1 Corinthians 11:2-16)…..Now I praise you, brethren, that you remember me in all things and keep the traditions just as I delivered them to you. 3 But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. 4 Every man praying or prophesying, having hishead covered, dishonors his head. 5 But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, for that is one and the same as if …
(1 Corinthians 3:5-11)…..Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Lord gave to each one? 6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. 7 So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. 8 Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor. 9 For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s …
(Matthew 24:42)…..Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. Continuing from yesterday’s devotional, “as in the days of Noah”, where the people were caught off-guard. The point our Lord makes is that they did not know until the flood came, there was no sense of any coming disaster, there wickedness continued on – despite the preaching of Noah for one hundred and twenty years, warning his generation that God would judge the world for their sin. And despite the familiar sight of the huge …
(Matthew 24:37-39)…..But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark,39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. Jesus presses His second coming by comparing it to the days of Noah. The last days will be like …
(Matthew 24:36-51)….“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels ofheaven, but My Father only. 37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.…
