He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” 3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. 4 He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. 5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, 6 nor of the pestilence that walks …

I came across this Puritan prayer and thought it would be good to reflect on for today’s devotion.
O MY LORD, let not my ministry be approved only by men or merely win the esteem and affections of people; But do the work of grace in their hearts, call in Thy elect, seal and edify the regenerate ones, and command eternal blessings on their souls. Save me from self-opinion and self-seeking; Water the hearts of those who hear Thy Word, that seed sown in weakness may be raised in power;
Cause me …

Why is it that so many who say they belong to Jesus Christ worry that He will quit loving them, or choose not to keep them in the salvation He freely gave them? The Word of God is full of His promise to the believer that we are eternally secure in the salvation God has provided for us. Read (John 5:24) (John 6:44-51) (1 Peter 1:3-5).
Today I want to encourage you with this thought, “that God Himself will not lose any who are His. If you have ever thought …

(Romans 1:18-21)…..For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
God is a God of love, but at the same …

How good is God? How has He shown His goodness to you? Just how would you answer these two questions today? Of course, God is good, for that is what His word tells us.
(Psalm 106:1)…..Praise the Lord! Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; For His lovingkindness is everlasting.
fRead: (Exodus 34:6) (Psalm 31:19) (Psalm 52:1) (Psalm 65:4)
There are many people today who live their lives with little regard to the goodness of God. They are unaware of how gracious God has been and is willing …

(Philippians 4:2)….I implore (plead with) Euodia and I implore (plead with) Syntyche to be of the same mind (agree with each other) in the Lord.
Paul is addressing a situation in the church where there was conflict. Euodia and Syntyche were two women in the church in Philippi that we don’t know very much about, except that they had labored with Paul in the gospel. We don’t even know what the conflict was about. But what we know is that conflict among Christians can be devastating to the spiritual life of …

We can look back over our lives and we can see that God has been faithful to us in everything. I hope that you realize that is true because it is. How do we know that is true? Because His word declares His faithfulness (Numbers 23:19) (Deuteronomy 32:4) (Psalm 33:4) (Isaiah 41:10)
God has certainly been faithful to us who are believers in Jesus Christ, who are His own purchased possession? Read: (1 John 1:9) (1 Corinthians 1:3-9) (Philippians 1:6) (2 Timothy 2:13). His faithfulness gives us a sense of …

In this passage of Scripture, we see the command given by the Psalmist to – “Give to the LORD glory and strength.” This is, of course, a continuing declaration of the Psalmist in (Psalm 96:5-6). God made the heavens, therefore honor and majesty are before Him. Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary. So, because He is to be feared, and greatly praised, there is an appeal here to GIVE to Him glory and strength and to join in the song of praise to Him (Psalm 96:1). Is this …
