Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
“A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” (Proverbs 16:9) It is safe to say that these are unique times as we all have been impacted in various ways concerning the 2020 pandemic. I hope you take comfort in knowing that Almighty God is in absolute control over today just as He was yesterday and will be tomorrow. In fact, I am so encouraged to know that I have absolute HOPE in His sovereign plan and I want you to be confident in this as well!
I am writing to communicate a few very important matters here at camp. First, we are anticipating a regular camp season this summer. Idaho is quickly moving through the necessary phases to resume normal life activities and the camp is on a plan to provide the required sanitation and disinfecting protocols to achieve this. It is our desire that kids can enjoy a fun summer camp and parents are relieved that we have taken all appropriate precautions to provide a safe environment. Our goal is to see the love of God flow throughout the summer sessions! Please pray that God richly blesses the camp season.
Secondly, we have some exciting news to share! We received a donation last fall to assist with replacing the main deck on the end of the dining hall. We are excited to see this project completed which should occur in the next two weeks.
In addition to the deck, we are hopeful to replace the flooring in the dining hall. This project, along with the deck rebuild, will be covered by the donation received last fall. However, the CLBC board of directors would like to contract with a professional installer to have the floor completed. This is where I would direct your attention. We need to raise funds quickly to cover this cost. We anticipate a financial need of approximately $6,000. Would you and your congregation prayerfully consider contributing to this need?
A few other quick updates include that we received a donation of 16 NEW quality mountain bikes for our summer programs. Additionally, funds were provided to purchase new helmets for this program! We also were blessed to have our primary dining hall building repainted this spring! Lots of amazing improvements have occurred or will in the next few weeks.
The last major item to discuss is that we are planning on the camp workdays which is scheduled for June 5-6, 2020. We understand that some will not be able to assist this year with the current health concerns but we are proceeding with the workdays because there is much to do! Please consider coming and assisting on these two days. We will provide meals for Friday evening as well as Saturday breakfast and lunch. Any church that is represented during this workday weekend will receive some discount coupons for summer camps. We hope to see you here! Please contact the office to let us know you are coming so we have enough food prepared. And yes, we are preparing for proper cleaning and sanitizing to meet the necessary standards!
Here is a quick summary in bullet point fashion as a review:
