Think about how many ways people are trying to get to heaven these days. Many are relying on their own goodness (which is an impossibility according to what we are told in (Romans 3:10-18). Others are relying on their good works, which are not really good when they are compared to the Holy God, and His standards. There are some who are even relying on a false religion (sometimes the false religion is one that is made up in their own mind). So there are many who following the road that leads to destruction.
(Matthew 7:13-14)…..Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
I am reminded this morning that no matter what man seeks to do in his endeavor to get to heaven, God has provided for him only one way for salvation and the forgiveness of his sin.
(John 14:6)…..Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
The word translated “way” means road. Jesus is the road to God. The Bible is clear. Jesus did not lie. There is no salvation or access into Heaven without receiving Jesus Christ. Take a moment and read (Acts 4:12) in your Bible. The Bible clearly teaches there is only one name by which people can be saved. That name is not Buddha, Confucius, or Mohammed, but the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no other way to God than through Jesus Christ.
This morning take a moment and thank the LORD for the salvation He has given you through His Son Jesus Christ. Thank Him that Jesus was the propitiation for you, and that by the shedding of His blood you were made clean in His sight. If you are reading this and you have no idea of what it means to have salvation in Jesus, or you have never heard the gospel of Jesus Christ that can set you free from sin and death, then I ask that you would pray and ask the Lord to show you your desperate need for Him.
