God’s voice that is heard in His Word is designed to produce faith (trust, conviction) in every believer of Christ’s gospel (Romans 1:16-17). Fulfilled prophecy is designed to produce faith in God (Isaiah 42:8-9) (Isaiah 44:6-8)(Isaiah 45:18-21) (Isaiah 46:9-11). Just think how much prophecy has already been revealed in the word of God. Not only the word of God, but also eyewitness testimony offer evidence to believe in Jesus (Acts 10:39-42) (1 John 1:1-4) (2 Peter 1:15-16). How can any person not see and believe? Especially since through His Providence, God’s Word has spread to every nation and translated into virtually every language (Romans 10:17-18).
The manuscript evidence which attests to its authenticity as a historical document far surpasses any other ancient document (such as those by Socrates, Plato, Homer, etc.) Through His Word God says of Jesus, “This is My Beloved Son, Hear Him!” God says that of no one else in the history of time except His Son Jesus Christ.
How well do people listen to the Word of God? It was written to produce faith in Jesus (John 20:30-31). Do we take the time to read the Word of God? The Berean’s did! (Acts 17:11). David also, and praised it highly (Psalm 19:7-11) (Psalm 119:97-105). Is this something you do? We have so much more of God’s Word than David did, shouldn’t we read it? Shouldn’t we love it? If our ears are opened to the Word of God, we will say “I believe in Jesus!”
