How was the gospel preached by Paul?

1. Not with flattery

• Paul did not resort to flattering words to gain an audience 
• Flattery can is a tool used by false teachers – (2 Peter 2:18) 

2. Not with covetousness

• Covetousness is another tool of false teachers – (2 Peter 2:1-3) 
• Paul was careful not to take advantage of his brethren through greed

3. Without seeking glory from men

• Any such glory would have been vain glory – (Proverbs 25:27)  

4. With gentleness and affection

• He was gentle, like a nursing mother with her

If you believe in God, then you should recognize Jesus as King, because Jesus is God. So many people do not understand why it is so great that this is true. Yet, the word of God (His Scriptures) goes out of the way to declare this truth to us. Go ahead and read these verses and meditate on them this morning, and realize that it is God (Jesus) who loves you and redeemed you.

Why is it necessary for God to give us evidence of the resurrection of Jesus Christ as recorded in the New Testament? What significance does it have for us? The resurrection is one of the major evidences that Jesus Christ is the Son of God (Romans 1:1-4). You are “Beloved!” But beloved by who? By Peter, of course (1 Peter 2:12) (1 Peter 4:12). By Paul, James, John, & Jude, all of whom used this same term of endearment. Every other month we send a team of Jesus loving men to the Union Gospel Mission is Spokane. We also have a separate (sometimes mixed) team of men that take the gospel of Jesus Christ to the inner-city bus station in Spokane.
