(Matthew 25:1-4)……“Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.” It was the lack of oil which caused these foolish virgins to be met with the words, “I do not know you” (24:12). Oil in the Old Testament is frequently used …
You’re Not Giving Up, Are You?
In our efforts to portrait to others we have our lives altogether, we tend to sometimes not reveal how much we hurt or how difficult the trial or life really is. Maybe it is because we just don’t want people to know that we struggle, or that we can’t make it, so we put up a wall of defense that looks good to others. If that is you let me remind you that we do have a wonderful God who takes care of us, but sometimes life is plain hard …

The word “gospel” (Gr., euaggelion) means “good news.” It pertains to the good news of salvation through ChristIt involves the proclamation of God’s grace offered through JesusIt requires a response involving obedience (1 Peter 4:17) (2 Thessalonians 1:7-8). The Death Of The Believer & Unbeliever
It is Jesus’ authority over death that I want to speak on this morning. Not to discourage you, but to give you hope. In truth, only the true Christian has reason to face death with confidence. Even though the Christian may not know everything about death, he/she doesn’t need to fear (Psalm 23:1-4) (Psalm 91). Why not? Because he/she belongs to the Lord due to believing the gospel, and are sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise until the day of the redemption of the purchased possession, WOW!! Because …

Watch That Tongue!
(James 3:1-12)…..My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment. 2 For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body. 3 Indeed, we put bits in horses’ mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body. 4 Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the …
With All Our Heart, Nothing Less!
We could give many reasons why we should love our Lord, certainly He is certainly worthy of it. We know the Scriptures declare to us just how deep and passionate that love should be (Mark 12:29-31). Can we say individually that we love the Lord with that much intensity? We have a very pivotal command here for every Christian – a command that is at the very heart of Christianity.
“And you shall love the LORD your God.” First notice that this is not a request or an option, …
How Should We Walk As Christians?
Good morning Christians! At least, that is who I want to address this morning. I thought it would be good to point out just what God wants from His saints today.
We ought to walk in the light – (1 John 1:5-10)
- Light represents what is pure – what is true – what is holy – what is reliable
- Light exposes the wickedness of sin (darkness)
- If we want to have fellowship with God – we must be cleansed (put away) the practice of sin in our lives
- Read: (Ephesians 5:1-21)
Who Is Listening?
During His earthly ministry, Jesus often concluded a lesson by crying out, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear”, concerning John the Baptist (Matthew 11:15), concerning the parable of the sower (Matthew 13:9), and concerning the explanation of the parable of the tares (Matthew 13:43). In His letters to the churches of Asia, Jesus concludes each with a similar saying: “He who has an ear. let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” (Revelation 2:7,11,17,29; 3:6,13,22). What is the point of these sayings? It is …
