The power of darkness resides the realm of Satan. Darkness implies not only absence of light, but opposition to the light. Opposition to what is true and pure and wholesome, that is, the things of God. Darkness is not only a condition of being without light, spiritually speaking, it is to be without God and opposed to God. The “Holy Spirit” is truly the One brings comfort to the believer – because that is His ministry. He is the “Parakletos, Comforter, Helper (John 14:16-18) (John 16:7-8). The phrase “comfort of the Holy Spirit” should naturally remind us of Jesus’ promise regarding the Spirits coming to teach them all things, reminding them what He said (John …
