As a Christian (a disciple-follower of Jesus Christ) it is easier to see the miserable state of the wicked now than when we were numbered with them. When I use the term wicked what do I mean? I mean those who are not born-again in Jesus Christ, those who have not believed the gospel of our Lord. That is those who do not know God and who have not obeyed the gospel. How does the Bible (God’s Word) describe the wicked?

• They desire evil – (Proverbs 21:10)
• He does not hate

God’s wrath is necessary because wrath is an attribute of His, that due to His Holy, Sanctified hatred for sin, must judge those who practice it. By His very nature He cannot tolerate evil. The reason the Bible speaks of people being “thrown” into hell is that no one will willingly go there, once they see what it really is. They have chosen sin. They have wanted sin. They do not want the punishment. (John 3:16)…..For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Those who believe the gospel of Jesus Christ will not perish but will have everlasting life. Why?
Because of the main verb in our verse, God “GAVE” His Son. God gave His Son for the purpose (Greek: hina) that every one who believes should not perish, but that every one who believes should have everlasting life.
